Somalia-(Berberanews)-The Puntland State of Somalia’s Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism Command (PSF) has issued a statement today stating that it will not accept and abide by any action taken by the Garowe administration to change the leadership of their army.
“We will not take any orders from those who work with the enemy and we will defend them,” the PSF said in a statement.
The PSF leadership argued that Puntland authorities had interfered in the conduct of military operations, which they said was the result of long-standing harassment.
“The PSF is a non-partisan and non-partisan force committed to the fight against the enemies of Puntland,” the statement said.
The decision by the PSF command has raised fears of insecurity in recent days in Bossaso, which has been overrun by rival factions.
Puntland’s security minister has previously threatened to hand over power to President Deni’s newly appointed director general of the PSF, who have also strongly opposed the order.
