London -(Berberanews)-The UK government has issued a statement on the status of Somaliland’s recognition, as the country’s parliament debates the recognition of the Republic of Somaliland tonight.
The UK Minister for Africa, Victoria Grace Ford, said in a statement on Twitter tonight that her government was committed to the cause of Somaliland.
“The debate in the House of Commons underscores the UK Government’s unwavering stance on Somaliland. It is up to Somaliland and the Federal Government of Somalia to decide their future.
We will continue to work together on democracy, security and development. We work with the federal government of Somalia and Somaliland, “said Minister Victoria Grace Ford in a statement.
